Lead Investigative Analyst
Job Description
As a lead analyst of the Office of Inspector General, this position leads health care fraud investigative, medical utilization and other analysts who have responsibility for complex investigations into allegations of fraud, waste and abuse involving Michigan's Health Services Programs, including Michigan's Medicaid Program, Mental Health Program, MIChild Program and Children's Special Health Care Services Program.
This position shares in the responsibility for the investigative output of the units assigned regional area and provides direction and support to investigative analysts to reach regionally assigned fraud detection and investigation outcomes. This position monitors staff performance to achieve timely, accurate and appropriate actions by reviewing investigative findings, managing a complex workload and investigative priorities, and ensuring the accuracy of reports of the investigative analysts within their unit.
The position assists in the overall planning, development, and direction of fieldwork, including fraud prevention and fraud investigation involving programs administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for referral for criminal prosecution and/or civil recovery and repayment actions. In performing investigations and leading investigative analysts, the incumbent performs operation and direct access to mechanized claims processing and information retrieval from systems.
As a lead analyst, investigates allegations of health services fraud, waste, and abuse for referral for administrative action and prosecution. These investigations may result in referral to law enforcement agencies (e.g., Attorney General Health Care Fraud Division) for criminal prosecution.
Position Description
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
