Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
*Bariatric (4H - Blodgett)*
*-22 Beds*
*-Nurse to Patient Ratio: *4 to 6 Patients to a Nurse (Subject to Change)
*-Population: *mixture of patients and patient types - surgical patients and medical patients.
50% surgery with specialty in bariatric surgery along with general surgery, urological, and colorectal surgery
50% medical patients - focus of digestive diseases (bowel obstructions, diverticulitis, pancreatitis) but will also see range of body system illnesses such as pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, etc.
*-Orientation:* Orientation is based on individual needs. The length can vary and be adjusted if needed. Orientation is started on days, and then you're transferred to hired shift.

*Basic Qualifications:*
Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within 4 years of hire
Experience - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
Licenses - Registered Nurse (RN) *State of Michigan
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 Days of hire
